What you need
Have you or your organisation been collecting photos, agendas, minutes books and other documents related to your activity? Do you need that cupboard space? Would you like to rediscover the forgotten past of your club? Or, do you just want to know how your society evolved?
By releasing the key aspects of your history you can find information that can be used for future promotions.
What I provide
This unique service is aimed at smaller organisations that do not have the resources to analyse and transcribe their stored records. My knowledge of Scottish history (mixed with European when necessary) ranges from the 16th century to the present. Previous transcription experience is for documents created from the 17th to the 19th century.
I can travel throughout Scotland to meet at your private or public archive. After a discussion of your needs we will agree the most suitable format for the converted information. The final package of a CD, printed manuscript or electronic transfer is your decision.
The benefits of hiring a researcher
As a qualified historian with professional research experience I offer the following benefits:- • accurate analysis of the information available • placing the information in context of wider issues • accurate reproduction of the original material • respect and proper care for the value and importance of the documents
Rates
As each project varies in complexity and labour no set rate can be quoted. However, my guidelines are:-
