Scotia Heritage.

Scotia Heritage offers walking tours of the fourth city of Scotland. Explore Dundee City and bring alive the characters and events that turned a royal burgh into the City of Discovery. Discover medieval sieges and a graveyard with connections to Mary, Queen of Scots and Robert the Bruce. Hear tales of the mariners who dominated the Scottish whaling and jute industries. Discover why Dundee is a woman's town but filled with Georgian and Victorian architecture constructed by men of vision and enterprise. For those who are new to the city a short climb up the Law is recommended. See why the Picts would build a fortress there and wonder at the magnificence of the longest rail bridge in Britain spanning the famed silvery Tay. Then meander through the wooded hillside that allows a complete overview of the city. Turn sightseeing into an experience.

Historical Research

Do you manage a social club or society?

Is your business in need of promotional material?

Whatever the subject of your passion, if your organisation stores records of activities then you are storing a wealth of information. That information contains potential to help the promotion of your organisation. Allow me to release that potential by analysing their importance and discovering the key aspects of your organisation's history.  If required, I can transcribe older documents and provide you with a digital copy that can be stored and used with twenty-first century technology. To arrange the discovery of your organisation's history, contact 01334-654833 or Email: scotiaheritage@gmail.com

Your Guide's Profile

I had a background in hospitality and public service before entering heritage tourism in 2000.

I found my true vocation as a guide at various tourism attractions. My first guiding post was in my home town aboard the RRS Discovery and at the Old Steeple (about which I have compiled a comprehensive guidebook that is pending publication). Whilst studying Scottish History (MA Hons) at Dundee University I revelled in giving guided tours at St. Andrews Castle. Having worked for Dundee Heritage Trust, the National Trust and at several Historic Scotland properties I have an in-depth understanding of Scotland's heritage.

My enthusiastic style is derived from passion for my subject and the pleasure of hearing someone else's story.  Please, come walk and talk with me.
